Russia Prepares for Giant New Casino Opening
In less than a month the first casino will open in Russia’s giant new gambling complex in the far end of Siberia.
The casino, Tigre de Cristal, will host 759 slot machines, multiple roulette and blackjack tables as well as a hotel. It is part of Russia’s attempts to develop the far east of the county, the stretch of land passing from Mongolia’s norther border to the Bering Strait.
The Macao gambling tycoon Lawence Ho is the main investor in the new casino, his firm has invested $500 million in the first phase and this will rise to $900 million. There are more than 300 million people living within a three hour flight radius of the new casino and there are high hopes that it will become a major new gambling centre. Already there have been numerous bookings from Korean travel agents ahead of the casino’s opening on October 8th.
