Wynn Resorts Moves Closer to Boston Casino

Wynn Resorts has won a key state approval for its Boston-area casino which means that the proposed $1.7 billion project is now one step further towards taking place.

The Massachusetts Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary wrote a 27 page memo saying that Wynn’s plans to address traffic and environmental problems are in compliance with the state’s Environmental Policy Act. This means that more detailed permitting, review and approval processes at the local, state and federal level can now move forward.

Wynn is hoping to open the state’s first resort casino by 2018 but the project was delayed over concerns regarding traffic and noise pollution. Now that this hurdle has been cleared it is hoped that rapid progress will be made on the project and building work will be able to begin in the near future.
