Ladbrokes Bookmaker Puts Odds on Potential New CEO
Last week, Richard Glynn was removed as the top dog from Ladbrokes’ operations over poor profits and improvements in the digital realm. He’ll remain in position until his replacement can be found and it seems Ladbrokes may have found their man in Patrick Jay. The Hong Kong expat was sports director for Ladbrokes prior to 2010, after which time he took the helm as head of trading operations at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Citing a desire to have his children schooled in Britain, Jay has made the move back to the UK. In his search for a new position, Jay has been rumoured to have been in talks with Ladbrokes operations. Not only this but Ladbrokes even updated their odds on him taking over for Glynn. Where Jay was a 40/1 shot in the dark, now he rests quite comfortably at 8/1 to pick up the reins. Speculate all you like, but this is a sure indication he’s closing in on his next position.
