S&P 500 Ends on New High and May Continue Rising

The Standard & Poor’s 500 rose steadily throughout August and continued this trend in the first week of September and closed at a new record high of 2007.71 on Friday having opened the day at 1998.00. U.S. index futures saw little change as a result of the 5-week rally.

A small number of analysts are worried that due to declining trading volume the stock market will come crashing down. However, there are many advocating buying as many stocks as possible as they expect to see the upwards trend continue.

Investors speculated that weakened growth in the jobs sector will stay the Federal Reserve’s hand when it comes to raising interest rates. This has led to further support of the stock market and a positive outlook toward the growth from traders.
