Skrill and Neteller Come to Poland

Skrill and Neteller are now able to work with licensed Polish online gambling operators. Last October saw the Polish Gambling Act amended to expand the range of financial service operators allowed to process gambling transactions.

Thanks to an amendment to the Polish Gambling Act, a wider range of online financial service operators are now available.
The main act was passed in 2011 and it does not allow licensed online poker. The EU initiated infringement proceedings against Poland and the October amendment was in part a response to EU Commission concerns.
Before the amendment gambling transactions were limited to Polish banks and financial providers. Thanks to the amendment other EU licensed firms can now offers their services.
Last November the Polish government submitted proposed amendments to the gambling act which would allow a wider product offering for internet gambling but still ban online poker. Provision would be by a state licensed monopoly.
The chances for nationally licensed online poker in Poland remain small. However, there aren’t many measures in place to combat the “grey” market and players will have few problems accessing online poker rooms.
