Atari and FlowPlay Form Social Casino Partnership

Atari, the well-known publisher of games, and FlowPlay, a leader in virtual world games and technology, have announced a partnership to develop Atari Casino, a social casino gaming platform.

FlowPlay will provide Atari with the backend infrastructure, analytics, payment systems and in-game advertising integrations needed for a social casino. The casino is expected to be made available via Facebook, iOS, and Android devices.

Atari Casino is due to be released in autumn 2014 and will offer some of the company’s best known brands such as Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, and Missile Command. Of course classic casino games like blackjack, poker and slots will also be on offer.

The partnership comes as Atari looks to expand beyond console gaming. Atari is hoping to enter the social casino market via this partnership which will bring it to a market of 170 million people.

The CEO at Atari, Fred Chesnais, said, “Atari is an iconic brand synonymous with fun and interactive entertainment. Entering social casino gaming is a logical next step for us given its appeal across multiple generations and its natural fit with the casual audience.”
