Zynga Hoping To Claw Back Market Share With Major Makeover
Zynga, known for their ever popular Farmville, Word With Friends and Zynga Poker, is making big changes to their suite of games in the hope to win back market share of the social gaming space that they have lost in recent years due to the flood of new competitors.
Zynga COO, Clive Downie, announced the changes as well as the even more focused mobile strategy today on the Zynga blog. In the pipeline includes:• Farmville2 (Country Escape) – with a connected rewards system which builds on the existing story of Farmville in order to create a seamless experience between desktop and mobile play plus the ability to play offline as well as additional social controls of the game sharing element.
• Zynga Poker is getting a fresh new look and design that promises to be even faster with more personalization.
• Word With Friends is also getting a selection of upgrades and features based on the feedback from users.
Zynga seems to be committed to getting back on top and avoiding another round of downsizing that they had to do in the last year. It seems that they have realized that mobile is where they need to focus most in the foreseeable future in order to make their stand in the market today.
