Mobile Gambling to Reach $62 Billion by 2018

According to a new report from Juniper Research, bets made from mobile devices will exceed $62 billion by 2018.

Juniper Research’s latest report claims that by 2018 over $62 billion will be bet each year on mobile gambling apps.
The report explains that successful mobile gambling launches in Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware will result in other states starting to legislate on online gambling.
Operators have been busy developing mobile casino apps following the huge success of free to play and social casino games.
Juniper’s report also stated that lotteries are eager to expand into the mobile market. The author of the report, Siân Rowlands, wrote that “lack of competition in the lottery space has meant that there has been little incentive to innovate. Realistically, only if retail outlet ticket sales slump will providers be incentivised to push distribution through online and mobile channels”.
At present a number of social casino apps, such as Big Fish Casino, Poker by Zynga and Slotomania, are amongst the highest grossing games on the App Store.
