Borgata Continues to Lead New Jersey Online Poker Market

After almost two months of operation it is possible to get a better picture of the long-term future of online poker in New Jersey.

The latest figures show that cash game traffic at New Jersey’s online poker rooms has remained fairly steady since the beginning of the year. Similarly market share seems to remain steady with the Party/Borgata partnership in the lead with 41% of the market.

The partnership looks set to stay in the lead thanks to a number of innovations and changes it has introduced. Last weekend New Jersey’s first Next Poker Millionaire was crowned after a momentous online tournament that ended in a televised championship event played at the Borgata. Myroslaw Woroch took home the prize money after he flopped a straight in the final hand.

Furthermore, after asking for feedback from its players, Party/Borgata has introduced a number of changes to its $50k Guarantee flagship online tournaments. Players asked for an earlier start time and a slightly different structure and that’s exactly what they got. Now tournaments start at 5pm, have a $10,000 first-place prize and an improved blind structure.

If Party/Borgata continue to produce such fantastic events, it seems likely they’ll be retaining the highest market share for quite some time.
