IGT Appoints Jim Veevaert as Vice President of Games

IGT has expanded the management team of its social casino DoubleDown by appointing the former Zynga studio manager Jim Veevaert as the vice president of games.
Veevaert will be taking charge of the long-term product strategy for DoubleDown Casino across mobile platforms such as Facebook. He will also be in-charge of driving product initiatives from concept to launch and working on the development of games.
John Vademore, the executive vice president of emerging business and CFO at IGT, said, “As we continue to grow IGT’s DoubleDown, this is the perfect opportunity for us to welcome Jim Veevaert and his vast gaming industry experience to the IGT family. Jim is truly at the top of his game, and he brings great talents that complement the strong existing senior leadership team at DoubleDown.”
In the past Veevaert has worked for a number of leading gaming companies such as Zynga, Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Microsoft, Vivendi and Sierra Entertainment. At Sierra Entertainment he was in-charge of the Half-Life and Counter-Strike franchise and was also executive producer of Halo 3, the highest-grossing game of 2007.
