Guests at Las Vegas Casinos Can Now Pay in Bitcoins

On January 22nd two Las Vegas Casinos, the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, will become the first to accept bitcoins.

This week two Las Vegas casino hotels will begin to accept bitcoin as a form of payment for a variety of services.
The hotels are using BitPay to process bitcoin purchases, tablets with the BitPay client will be installed at the cashiers allowing bitcoin users to quickly and easily pay using their mobile wallets.
The co-owner of the two hotels, Derek Stevens, said that customer demand has led to the move.
Upon making the announcement Stevens said, “I’m proud that the D and Golden Gate will be the first casino properties to accept Bitcoin. We’re located in the growing high-tech sector of downtown Las Vegas, and like all things downtown, we’re quickly adaptive to new technology. The timing is right for us to launch this initiative, and I’m happy to be able to offer this to our customers.”
In other news for bitcoin users, the travel rewards site PointsHound is now offering its members the chance to earn bitcoins instead of frequent flyer miles or other reward points.
