Winning Poker Network Accepts Bitcoin Deposits
In further good news for bitcoin fans, the Winning Poker Network, which includes poker rooms such as Americas Cardroom, has begun accepting the virtual currency as a deposit method. The Winning Poker Network is the second largest network to accept US players and it is the largest so far to accept bitcoins. At present a maximum of $1,000 can be deposited in bitcoin, however, this is expected to be expanded and the network will also begin incorporating bitcoins for cashouts.
The big difference between the network’s implementation of bitcoins and Seals with Clubs’ implementation is that the network does not require the player to take on any exchange risk. Players can buy bitcoins on an exchange for fiat, transfer them to the network in the cashier and receive dollars in their account.
There is no need to hold the volatile currency which means players have far more financial security.
At present the Winning Poker Network is using an exchange rate of $814 per bitcoin; while this will fluctuate it appears to be fair and matches the current exchange rate on BitStamp and Coinbase.
Over the coming months poker fans can expect to see more and more poker networks begin to accept the virtual currency.
