Party Poker Leads in New Jersey Online Gambling Market

After one month of online gambling in the state of New Jersey, Party Poker is leading the way with 50% of the market share. The site shares a player pool with BorgataPoker.com and over the last two weeks it has grown by 8%. On average there are 240 players on the Party Poker network playing for real money at any given time.

In a pre-close trading update last week Bwin.Party, the parent company of Party Poker, mentioned its success in New Jersey. The statement read, “In poker, revenues have grown since the introduction of our new poker client that is now available to approximately 65% of our customers, as well as from the launch into New Jersey where our network is the market leader.”

Behind Party Poker was WSOP.com which has captured around 30% of the market, it has an average of 150 players online. However, WSOP.com did show the biggest fortnight growth percentage, it grew by 18% over the last two weeks.

Overall the number of online poker players in New Jersey is steadily growing and looks set to continue to do so. There is a total average of 480 real money players online at any given time, two and a half times more than has been recorded in Nevada.
