Oxford Casino to Complete Expansion by New Year’s Eve

The Oxford Casino in Maine has announced that its expansion will be complete in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The expansion will add 58 slot machines and four table games, including two for high-stakes players, to the casino floor.

The Oxford Casino will have completed its $3.2 million expansion in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The casino’s spokesperson Jane Hoyt said that the new slot machines will bring the total number to over 800.
She went on to explain that two of the tables being added will be away from the central gaming pit and reserved for use for high-stakes games.
This week new graduates will emerge from the casino’s dealer school to help staff the new expansion and it is beginning to offer more classes in order to prepare for what it expects to be a busy summer next year.
Churchill Downs bought the casino for $160 million. Since then the company’s third quarter report showed that its net revenues from its gaming wing grew by 61% largely due to the addition of the Oxford Casino. The casino accounted for over 50% of the increase in revenues.
