WPT Charity Tournament to Raise Money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
This Thursday the World Poker Tour Foundation is holding its annual “All in for Kids” Charity Poker Tournament at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the United States’ leading pediatric hospital.The tournament is being hosted by 13-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and was co-founded by Premiere League VI champion Dan Shak. It brings together professional poker players, celebrities and benefactors for a night of dinner, drinks and poker to raise money for the “on-going efforts to improve the lives of children in New York, Philadelphia and from around the globe.”
The WPT President Adam Pliska said “The value of helping sick children recover from life-threatening illnesses and helping them find hope for a better tomorrow cannot be overstated.”
Also expected to attend are WPT commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Pattern as well as WPT Champion Andy Frankenberger. Vanessa Selbst, the No. 1 ranked female player is also going.
The tournament is raising money for the Pediatric Palliative Care program which provides family-centered care for children that face life-threatening illnesses.
