Paddy Power Loses William Reeve as Head of Operations
Reeve, a co-founder of LoveFilm, is leaving his job at the bookmakers to pursued another opportunity within the UK.
William Reeve, the Head of Operations at Paddy Power, Ireland’s largest book maker, has shocked the company by stepping down from his position. Reeve, who rose to fame after co-founding the online film rental business LoveFilm, is leaving his job in order to pursue another opportunity within the UK.
A spokesman for Paddy Power said that Reeve, “wishes, as a next step, to pursue opportunities in the commercial area. Paddy Power is grateful to William for his contribution to the management of the infrastructure of the business and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
In his job Reeve was in charge of overseeing technology, risk and trading, human resources and corporate strategy. The company is likely to miss his presence as online sales delivered over 75% of the bookmaker’s profits in the first half of this year.
It is not thought that Reeve will be remaining in the gambling sector but there has been no hint yet as to where he is moving.
