PlayPhone Announces Sprint Partnership
PlayPhone has announced a new partnership with Sprint that will bring 55 million new customers to the gaming network.
PlayPhone already has partnerships with Verizon, AT&T and Claro Brazil and this latest deal will bring PlayPhone’s mobile gaming presence up to 83% of North America’s mobile market.
The CEO of PlayPhone, Ron Czerny, said, “This is the first social gaming platform for Sprint. They haven’t done anything like this in a long time and we’re bringing over 500 games to the service. The PlayPhone app is going to be directly available on the Sprint Zone and part of Sprint’s pre-load package. There’s going to be a games widget that enhances discoverability and helps users find new games that they’ll enjoy.”
The pre-loaded package will allow users to browse and download new games without the need for app stores. There are also powerful social options to help discover new games and the widget will offer games to users based upon their previous selections.
Czerny went on to say, “We’re looking at great games, small downloads, and ease of development. With high profile carriers and developer support, PlayPhone is ready for the next phase of mobile gaming.”
