Caesars Interactive Acquires WSOP Mobile App

Caesars Interactive has furthered its presence in the mobile gambling world by acquiring the rights to the World Series of Poker mobile app.
According to the agreement recently announced between Caesars Interactive and Electronic Arts, EA will transfer all global rights and ownership of the World Series of Poker game for Facebook and mobile to the control of Caesars Interactive’s Playtika division. The new agreement overrides a previous agreement between the two companies.
Nothing will change for users of the game, the WSOP application will remain available on Facebook, Amazon Kindle, Android and iOS.
Since its launch a year ago WSOP has been downloaded by over 6 million users and there are more downloads every day.
In the meantime the 2013 WSOP tournament is continuing in Las Vegas and just over half of the 62 gold bracelet events are now over. The $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event begins on July 6th and the final table will take place on November 4th.
This year’s WSOP is the biggest ever thanks to a number of changes. It is the first year that the tournament series has been sponsored by 888poker and there are live streams available of every event at the 888poker websites.
