Betable Forms Alliance to Compete with Zynga
The online gambling company Betable has joined with three other social gaming companies to form an alliance which they hope will be able to compete with Zynga as it looks to expand into real-money betting.
It was announced this week that Betable signed on Slingo, a company which creates virtual-wagering slots and bingo games, as well as Digital Chocolate and Murka, both of which have experience in virtual slots. The three companies will make use of Betable’s UK gambling license and technologies.
One of Betable’s existing partners, Big Fish Games, announced earlier this week that its casino-slot machine game has for the first time started accepting real-money bets from gamers based in the UK.
At present Zynga is the world’s largest social game operator and announced recently that it will be partnering with Bwin.party Digital Entertainment as part of its plans to join the real money gambling market. There are plans to release a video slot version of the popular Farmville game in the UK at the beginning of next year.
The market place is sure to become competitive as there are also a number of other game developers looking to enter the UK online gambling market as well as other countries where it is legal.
