Playtech’s iPoker Network Splits

After months of preparation, the long anticipated split of Playtech’s iPoker network into two different tiers has finally happened.

After months of preparation, the long anticipated split of Playtech’s iPoker network into two different tiers has finally happened.

The major companies on the previous network, William Hill, Titan Poker, Poker 770, Bet365 and Paddy Power are all in the top tier.

Top tier sites have managed to meet the criteria specified and they are expected to provide an exponential increase in traffic to satisfy the need for new players on the network.

In order to qualify for the top tier companies had to bring a minimum of six thousand real money and active players each month and 850 new real money and active players each month.

The idea of the two tier network is to provide two pools of players, one of real money games and one of SNG players.

The slower tier consists of the medium and small sized operators on the iPoker network; it includes companies such as Betfred and Mansion Poker.

There are rumours that some operators in the lower tier are in talks to work together in order to provide better competition and increase performance.

Only multi-table tournaments and Speed Poker cash tables have not been split.
