Playtech Enjoys Great Success in Spanish Market
This week Playtech, the global developer and licensor for online gambling products, announced that its products are doing well in the Spanish online gambling market.
According to the group, a number of its licensees will be launching casino and poker products into the newly regulated markets over the coming weeks.
Playtech’s press release said that its licensees under Spanish regulation include both existing licensees “as well as local gaming and media companies aiming to leverage their market leading position and well recognised brands that appeal to local players.”
Some of the groups which license Playtech products are Bet365, William Hill and Poker 770. These, and others, have been at the forefront of the newly regulated Spanish online gambling market since it went live on June 1st. Playtech was also the first to launch a poker network, iPokerSpain.es, under the new regulations.
Mor Weizer, the Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, said that the group is excited to see licensees launch in Spain. He said that the Spanish market is important to Playtech and “a benchmark within the European regulated environment.” Weizer went on to say that they are confident that Playtech products “will set the standard for others to follow in Spain.”
In other Playtech news, last week the company opened the London markets in a special ceremony after it moved from teh AIM to the Main Market. Playtech announced that they would be making the move after showing a market capitalisation of over £1 billion. During the launch Weizer said that it was a “very exciting day for Playtech” and the new listing marks “a significant milestone in its [Playtech’s] continued development.”
Playtech have always stated that it wants to expand and strengthen its position in the international online gambling arena and its rapid success within the Spanish market is evidence of how well the company is achieving its objectives.
