Online Casino Firms Raise Funds for Charity
Major online casino firms Bet on Sports and Party Gaming have boosted charitable revenues at this year’s upcoming Global Interactive Gaming and Expo Summit. Both online casinos firms have donated generous amounts totalling $35,000 collectively. The online casino donations will be given to the Gordon House Association, a U.K- based provider of support for gambling addicts and other individuals suffering from gambling-related problems.
River City Group, the organizers for the Global Interactive Gaming and Expo Summit which will take place this year in Montreal, are responsible for the fund-raising element in this year’s program. Last year’s event raised much needed awareness for gambling problems and the organizers are hoping that detractors of the online casino industry will take note of the strong emphasis on gambling addiction. Other online casino firms have come forward to top up the donations from Party Gaming and Bet on Sports to bring this year’s contribution so far to $50,000. It is anticipated that further donations will be made from online casino firms during the event.
Several online casino operators have put their weight behind charities recently, in particular those dealing with the social problems attributed to compulsive and underage gambling. A number of online casino and sports betting firms featured prominently in Gambling Awareness Week in the U.S. this year.
