Online Casino Firms Up Plans for 2006
Following a successful 2005, online casino firm 888 Holdings has set some notable objectives for the New Year. Since the company’s floatation on the London Stock Exchange, gambling revenues have soared, with huge growth rates predicted for the online casino company’s poker business in 2006. 888’s management team has said the new financial year has started positively with an increase in the online casinos membership, deposit amounts and first-time depositors being recorded in January.
The first month of the New Year has already proved a busy time for the online casino giant. The latest version of 888’s casino product, version 7.5, was released complete with new graphics and updated slot machines. The online casino also released its poker product, Pacific Poker, in Swedish, German and Italian. In addition, 888 has been quick to identify new markets after launching a new e-wallet product in the Netherlands, German and Spain. Further plans for the first quarter of 2006 include additional language support and a new jackpot feature for the online casino firm’s poker product.
Sponsorship has also played a large part in 888’s first trading month for the year. On 15 January, the online casino company announced its multi-million pound deal with World Snooker to become the major sponsor of the World Snooker Championship for the next five years. The event, which will now be known as the 888 World Snooker Championship, will give the online casinos extensive international exposure. 888 will also be an associate sponsor of the Grand Prix, Masters and UK Championship snooker events.
