Michael Schumacher Emerges from Coma and Transfers Hospital

Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is reportedly out of a coma and has left the Swiss hospital in Grenoble where he was being treated for the past five months.

The news was confirmed by Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm who said, “Michael has left the CHU Grenoble [hospital] to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore”.

However, the seven time world champion is not out of the woods yet. His chances of a full recovery are slim and he is now being treated in a special rehabilitation clinic specializing in similar trauma cases.

The news was received with enthusiasm across the world and sportsmen such as Lukas Podolski, a footballer at Arsenal, expressed their support and wishes for Schumacher’s speedy recovery.

Kehm added, “The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes… We are sure it helped him. For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.”

Schumacher sustained his injuries during a skiing incident in France on 29 December and had been in a critical condition ever since.
