A leading online casino based in the UK, 32Red, has recently announced the acquisition of Bet Direct from Sportech Plc. The amount paid for the acquisition was a total of GBP 11 million plus account liabilities. Bet Direct is one of the largest independent Internet betting and telephone businesses in the UK, offering a range of services, from telephone, interactive television, Internet, online casino, fixed odds, and poker games. A strong database of online casinos and general services customers has been brought to 32Red through this buy-out and now Bet Direct’s members around the world will be directed to 32Red for all of their service needs.

‘The acquisition of Bet Direct fits the strategic objectives of 32Red extremely well providing a much enlarged customer database and the ability to offer the full portfolio of betting and gaming products through a variety of distribution channels,’ stated Ed Ware, CEO of 32Red Plc. 32Red has been proving to the world that it is a successful online casino and entertainment portal. Just recently the online casino operator floated onto the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market in September of 2005, and it has also announced that it will be the official club sponsors of Aston Villa Football Club for the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.

Bet Direct members around the world will now have a new operator running and managing their favorite online casino games and other media and communications services.
