The Pennsylvania Gaming Commission released a statement in which it reported that March 2013 produced the second highest casino slot revenues since the opening of the state’s casinos in 2006.
Despite the promising result of the past month revenue figures for the casino slot market is still lower than a year ago, falling from a monthly total of $233.15 million a year ago to 229.34 million in March this year.
While most of the state’s 11 casinos, such as the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, followed the general course of slight decline in relation to last year, the Pittsburgh based Rivers Casino boasted a 2.8 % increase in revenue compared to March 2012.
Meanwhile in Connecticut slot enthusiasts are warming up to take part in the world record attempt for Largest Slot Machine Tournament and Most Slot Machines Running the Same Game Simultaneously to be held on 27 April in Mohegan’s Sun Casino Resort.
The tournament will be held at the resort’s three casinos, Casino of the Wind, Earth and Sky and the winner of the top prize will walk away with a staggering $50,000 in cash.
