Rivers Casino Poised to Take Illinois by Storm
The Rivers Casino is poised to become one of the most powerful forces in the gaming industry as the venue prepares to launch this week. The newly developed gambling destination, which is located in Des Plaines, Illinois, occupies one of the most attractive sites outside of Las Vegas and Atlantic City and looks set to attract customers from Chicago and its suburbs as well as travellers passing through the nearby O’Hare International Airport. Experts are confident that the new venture will be a success despite the pressures asserted by the difficult financial climate.
Commenting on the launch, consultants have noted that the casino has been given a head start in the race to capture a lucrative and expanding market. Proposed legislation to increase gaming freedoms in the area could see Illinois welcome up to 5 new venues – imposing some pressure on established institutions.
Experts are now saying that the casino will have a brief window in which to assert itself – creating an upscale client base it can rely on as other competitors arrive on the scene.
Speaking of the venture, the casino owner, Midwest Gaming and Entertainment LLC, said that the casino was emphatically “not a riverboat” and was instead adopting the luxury Vegas model. The Rivers Casino will, it added, boast a gaming floor occupying 44,000 square feet on a single level as well as grand 20-foot ceilings. In addition, the floor will play host to some 1,050 slot machines in addition as 48 table games featuring classic titles such as craps, blackjack, and roulette. Experts will no doubt be monitoring revenue streams with close attention in the critical months ahead.
