Online Casino Industry in US Unclear of Election Impact

Published on November 18, 2006 by admin   ·   No Comments

Now that the US mid-term elections are over and the Democrats once again have control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate for the first time in a dozen years, the online casino industry remains in a question mark regarding the future of this growing market. Online casino companies can only wait and wonder about how the outcome of the recent election will impact the online casinos industry.

A close look at national results may indicate the general direction US voters are hoping the new Democratic majority will take. The big question deals with how the newly elected leaders will treat the online casino industry? Will they listen to a number of voters who are upset by online casino gaming or will they listen to the majority of Americans, who, according to a poll commissioned by the Poker Players Alliance, do not feel that the federal government should ban US citizens from playing poker online?

Although the online casino industry, and the online gambling companies which constitute this market, is full of questions as well as concern regarding its future, the only plan of action it can take is one of patient anticipation. The waiting game is the way of the near future for online casino owners and groups. If the online gambling crowd is loud enough, politicians will have to take note of what they say. The new Congressmen and women on Capitol Hill will surely take one lesson from this election: In politics, nothing is guaranteed.
