News for U.S. Online Casino Gamblers

Published on October 7, 2006 by admin   ·   No Comments

If you had to pick the best moment of your day or week to visit an online casino to play games at, when would it be? Do you have enough time throughout the day to take ten minutes to play a game of slots or roulette? Are you one of those gamblers who only plays once a month, or accesses his or her online casino account once a year – on a special occasion, for example? Whatever your preferences are for playing online casino games, you need to keep in mind one important thing. This could shape your gaming habits.

If you are a resident of the United States of America: your online gambling days could be numbered due to legislation passed by the Congress which bans certain forms of payment at online casinos by Americans, and bans the basing of servers hosting online casino software or games on U.S. soil. The United Kingdom has had similar laws restricting the basing of online casino servers on U.K. soil, but in the U.K. online casino gambling is tolerated. Even though there is a culture of gambling prevalent throughout most regions of the U.S., online casino gambling hasn’t gained acceptance.

There is hope on the horizon, given that online casino gambling is accepted elsewhere in the world. However, there isn’t a culture of trust between online casinos and the U.S. government, which means that until such a culture or relationship develops (the onus is on the online casino gambling industry, just so you know) it isn’t likely that online casino companies will be able to legally do business AS online casino companies in the near future.
