Media Call For Online Casino Ban Revocation

Published on July 1, 2006 by admin   ·   No Comments

The ban on online casino gambling that was issued on June 78 in Washington was signed off by Governor Christine Gregoire and continues to draw criticism from the media. People are clearly unhappy with this turn of events and the fact that online casino gambling and advertising for the online casino industry is banned. The mainstream media claim that the ban is a hypocrite act.

While U.S. citizens are encouraged to gamble at land-based casinos, legislators and government officials are working on banning online casino gambling, and portraying the online casino industry as an illegal and harmful entity. Under the new signed law, online casino gambling is a felony that requires the same punishments that reserved for child molesters, second offence drivers, and drug dealers. One of the most popular online activities that millions of Americans participate in everyday is being regarded as a serious felony that must be handled.

Instead of harnessing the power of the online casino community, U.S officials are turning regular law obeying citizens into criminals. Many elements in the media are calling for a revocation of the new online casino ban and that if no action will be made the matter will be settled in courts. “Washington legislators would do well to retool their new Internet gambling law before the courts do it for them.”
