Online Casino Legalization in China

Published on December 16, 2005 by admin   ·   No Comments

Online casino legalization and regulation is one of the main subjects being discussed between government officials and online casinos operators. With the online casino industry making headlines on a daily basis, it is no wonder it takes more of a central stage with each passing day. With so many countries getting involved in this popular market, it is no surprise that China has also decided to step into the ring and become a major player in this quickly growing industry.

Chinese government officials are also in dispute over legalizing online casino sites in Mainland China. Each side presents what it believes to be the most critical and important aspects of online casino legalization, and in doing so, prevent a final decision from being reached. There are three central matters which are being addressed by all involved. The first, is to legalize gambling one ’step’ at a time, while restricting and supervising these online gambling sites very closely; the second has to do with professional gamblers collaborating with criminal syndicates; and the third has to do with the extent of regulation on the online casinos.

As of yet, the Chinese government has not made any moves to pass a law to legalize online casino sites. With the way things are moving there, they won’t be legalized in the near future. The online casino industry is making waves all over the world, with online casinos fans thrilled, and government officials worried.
