North Dakota Online Casino Initiative Live and Kicking

The majority of the online casino business community has been under the misguided notion that attempts to legalize and regulate online casinos gambling in North Dakota had subsided. This week, moves have been made in an effort to ignite the online casino campaign, which will make North Dakota the first state in the US to regulate online casino gambling. Jim Kasper, one of the strongest advocates for such a move is urging online casino operators’ to lend a helping hand.

When the proposal to regulate the online casino business was brought forth the North Dakota Senate earlier this year it fell short by a margin of 44 votes to 3. This time around, Kasper believes that Dakotans will endorse such an initiative since it stands to save them thousands of dollars in taxes money. The plan calls for taxing online casino operators in exchange fro allowing them to run online gambling services in North Dakota. The money will then be used in order to reduce property taxes, which stands to save the tax payers a lot of money.

Keith Furlong, of the Interactive Gaming Council commented on initiative saying, “The key is convincing the key people in the online casino industry that it’s worthwhile”. Nigel Payne, chief executive for Sportingbet online casino says that he would be interested in examining Kasper’s proposal saying, “When the initiative is fully developed, we, as I am sure like others in the online casino industry, will assess it on its merits and make a considered decision at that time”.
