Much talk has been revolving around the current internet casino gambling situation in Cuba, following the many positive changes the country has seen since Raul Castro's inception this year. The main question on everyone's minds is whether or not internet casino gambling will be approved by the Cuban dictator any time soon?

When Castro was initially advanced forward as leader of the Cuban nation, many were quick to believe that he would bring nothing more than outdated communist policies, and dwell on the dictatorship of his brother Fidel - the overall attitude of South Florida Cubans was nothing worth celebrating.

However, the new Castor has made several impressive moves since his inception, bringing about some much needed change and easing the heavy restrictions imposed by Fidel. Among such developments is the ability to own cell phones, microwaves, retail goods and DVD players.

The Cuban government has maintained a negative attitude towards internet casino gambling ever since the 1950's and the revolution, when they tore down many casino resorts (which were privately owned). In 2004, the general internet access for home users was banned entirely in order to preserve bandwidth for schools, hospitals and offices.

Yet in light of the positive adjustments, talk of the ban on internet casino gambling has resurfaced, and many are approaching the issue with high hopes. Many Caribbean countries maintain a strong economic output due to the internet casino gambling industry, and Cuba is expected to put out $15 million each year from internet casino revenues alone. The Caribbean, after all, is an internet casino gambling capital, and Cuba is one of the last countries standing on the side-line.
