The third annual 'Opportunity Village Poker Tournament' was held this weekend at the Caesars Palace Casino in Las Vegas, and all the Celebs were there to join in the efforts to raise money for rehabilitation of the mentally disabled at the Rehabilitation Center 'Opportunity Village'.
The casino was overflowed with a long list of A, B, and C list celebrities, ready to get their gear off at the Strip Poker tournament. Some of the guest list included Earl Tuner, Kevin Burke, comedian Bobby Slayton (who performs at the Hooters Casino), Frankie and Joey Scinta, Mystic Mona, stars from 'The Thunder from Down Under', Robin Leach, Skip Martin Kool and the Gang, the Fantasy Girls, and baseball legend Rollie Fingers.
The Special Events Manager of Caesars Palace Casino, Sheria Spleen, explained that "it's a lot of fun and for a really great cause", which is why more and more Celebs and poker pros alike are getting in on the fun each year at the casino.
Approximately 200 players participated in the $500 No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament with rebuys. The first place, which was won by Ronald Kornak, was awarded ten grand in cash and a seat at the 2008 World Series of Poker main event. Others took part in an exclusive VIP reception and fashion show, featuring the spring collection of Escada, inside the PURE Nightclub of the casino, simply by donating $50.
Proceeds from both the tournament and the fashion show, as well as a silent auction held earlier at the casino, will be donated directly to the Opportunity Village in Nevada - a non-profit organization for community rehabilitation.
