Now, online gambling big shot 888 has announced an online sports book offering in Italy. That's right; the famous online gambling group will cater for the Italian market in yet another step forward in the company's expansion into Europe. The online casino sports book launched in conjunction with Cogetech, an Italian market specialist. The site is 888's first launch since the online gambling group receive its Italian gambling permit from local regulator AAMS.
Currently, the site will only feature sports gambling and there will be not online casino operating using the domain. Horse racing will also be excluded for the time being, as the company stated. The online casino will develop and new products will be integrated into its platform as the Italian regulator allows them. "This is a milestone in the progression of 888's diversified, multi-channel strategy to grow our customer reach and appeal globally," said Gigi Levy, Chief Executive over at 888. The Italian gambling market, namely sports gambling, is growing strongly in the last year and with the big names such as 888 entering the market it will only keep growing.
