How come I haven't seen you on Facebook? Everyone's there. Facebook is the most popular social network utility in the world today and everyone is there. The platform enables you to open your own page with your personal information and characteristics and lets you interact with your friends online. You can chat with them, you can send them virtual gifts and you can ever play Texas Hold'em Poker with them! Social platforms are the biggest thing in today's surfing and the online gambling industry would do well to integrate such properties in their websites. People love to interact with other people. The more the merrier.

Currently, you can logon to Facebook and play several gambling games with your friends. You get points and climb up a lever of skill, but there is no money involved, obviously. Finding a way to incorporate real money gambling into a social networking platform will mean the world for the online casino industry. Gambling, like all other games, is a form of interacting and Facebook is all about interacting. People would rather play cards for cash than sending a virtual sheep to one another (one of the options that Facebook brings).

Finding the regulatory basis for such a system would probably be hard. Online casinos should try and resemble themselves to site like Facebook or Myspace (another popular social networking site). Online casinos should allow people to fully interact with other gamblers, establish their own player profiles etc. Although privacy is highly important when gambling online, people would love to interact with gamblers like themselves. Much work needs to be done and much though needs to be put into a social gambling platform, but that doesn't mean one isn't needed. But until that happens, you can always use your Facebook profile to chat with friends and challenge them to a virtual poker game for points.
