Party Gaming didn't completely recover from its forced retirement from the United States online gambling market and its financial figures are not that supportive. The company is currently waiting for the US authorities' decision on its case regarding its activities in the country prior to the enactment of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. To better the chances the company decided to hire four new non-executive directors and bring needed help along. With its books showing a pre-tax loss of GBP 23.5 million during the last six months, it's not easy recruiting new people.
One of the new directors is Lord Moonie who was a House of Commons MP and a parliamentary assistant from 2000 to 2003. The company was looking for people who would bring years of experience into the firm and change the way things are currently heading. Another addition to the company's human resources is Stephen Box who was the financial director of National Grid from 1997 to 2002. Box seems to be an excellent choice for Party Gaming. John Davy and Emilio Gomez are also on the list and will be appointed as representatives of the billionaire founders of the gambling group.
Party Gaming (despite its current situation) is considered to be one of the top players in the online gambling market. The company is operating a highly popular online poker room and offering varies gambling services to gamblers. It's known for its high quality platform and its diverse gaming portfolio. Hopefully, the recently hired aim will do well for the firm and we will see it produce profits once again. When large firms are experiencing financial difficulties it affects the entire industry. Most gambling firms have reported good numbers this year, but evidently the pinch of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is still there.
