According to a recent announcement by a Phillipines internet gambling regulator, online casino sites and poker rooms that have passed eCOGRA's regulatory requirements will not have to undergo further testing for a First Cagayan license. The Asian firm "First Cagayan" is the latest independent online casino gambling regulator to accept the international standards belonging to the eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA). The agreement follows a similar acceptance of eCOGRA standards by a Maltese regulator last month.

First Cagayan's president Albee Benitez made the announcement after several months of deliberation, during which time eCOGRA's standards, procedures and policies pertaining to the online casino industry were put to the test. Its process of awarding online casino operators with the "Play It Safe" seal was closely studied by a team working under the direction of First Cagayan. In his statement to media, Benitez expressed his unreserved confidence in the online casino watchdog's standards, adding that the group's inspection and monitoring systems fully comply with First Cagayan's requirements for safe and ethical online gaming.

eCOGRA is currently in discussions with a number of other national regulators of online casino gambling that are committed to player protection, and hopes to conclude further agreements soon. Last year, the Kahnawake gambling jurisdiction accepted the online casino watchdog's standards fully. Currently 76 leading online gaming brands carry the eCOGRA "Play It Safe" seal.
