The issue of online casino regulation was brought once again to the public's attention when a 25-year-old online casino gambler spent GBP 158,000 that belonged to his parents at online casino sites. It took the young man 50 minutes alone to lose that huge sum at the online casino sites. Online gambling regulation was addressed at the young man's trial when a claim was raised regarding his online activities.

At the trial, people called for online casino regulation and said that being able to lose that kind of money from your home should be addressed by society. Responsible gambling is the first concern of online casino regulators, but no real action has been made so far. Losing GBP 158,000 at an online casino might be very good for that particular gambling site, but it's bad for the online gambling industry as a whole.

Online casino sites should work to regulate the industry, and even if the government doesn't move on the subject, action should be taken. There are some self regulating bodies in the online casino industry and they should give the solution for such cases. Strongly promote responsible gambling and making sure that online casino sites are looking after their players. An online gambling operator needs to ensure that players work inside a reasonable frame or else the reputation of online gambling will be shattered.
