The Alberta gaming and liquor commissioner issued a warning to the clubs after an anonymous tip off was received from an Edmonton resident. The police received information from the complainant that cribbage gambling was taking place at the clubs, along with online casino gaming. The accusations were centered on Navy and Air Force Veterans clubs located in Alberta, Edmonton, and Grande Prairie. Angry club members have defended their actions, saying that focusing on individuals is unnecessary. Prosecutors have reiterated the illegal nature of online casino gaming but state no further action will be taken against the clubs at this stage. |
