RealTime Gaming, a leading online casino software provider, is being faced with a law suit from its primary online casino operator, Interbet. This operator runs the popular Giant Vegas and Kiss online casinos. The serious allegations RealTime Gaming is being held accountable for include the unilateral closure of merchant accounts and casinos without Interbet's permission or consent, notices to players that the online casino sites were closing (which encouraged players to use other RealTime Gaming operations) and many others. This has now become a publicly documented civil court case, which is filed in Fulton County, Georgia, USA.
The online casino was a licensee using the software provided by RealTime Gaming, but the business relationship took a turn for the worse when the online casino suspected illegal activity and chose to change to an alternative software platform. Now, Interbet is demanding from KDMS International (the formal name of the software provider) and its Montana Overseas SA subsidiary, that punitive, compensatory damage and numerous other costs be paid. However, there is yet to be any indication of a set trial date.
Although the online casino world is quickly becoming a centralized market and world industry, business partnerships and corporate deals can still go awry. Because the online casino industry is still fairly new, as is the Internet, loopholes and opportunities to abuse the system and take advantage of other companies' success is abundant. Hopefully, with time, the market will strengthen and become more secure, not only from online casino players trying to swindle the online casinos, but also from the business owners themselves.
